Samantha Norment
CEO and Founder, Her HOPE Foundation Inc.
Samantha Norment is a dedicated U.S. Army veteran and the Founder of Her HOPE Foundation Inc., an organization committed to empowering female veterans and addressing the unique challenges they face during their transitions from military to civilian life. After serving her country, Samantha encountered difficulties in finding her place and grappling with substance abuse, untreated mental health issues, and homelessness.
Recognizing the urgent need for support, Samantha transformed her personal struggles into a mission to create pathways for other women veterans who are navigating similar obstacles. Through her leadership at Her HOPE Foundation, she aims to provide essential resources, transitional housing, and a supportive community designed to foster healing and resilience.
With a passion for advocacy and a commitment to making a meaningful difference, Samantha is dedicated to ensuring that every female veteran has access to the care and support they deserve, empowering them to overcome barriers and thrive in their post-service lives.

Cherlanda Houston
Secretary
Cherlanda Houston, a US Army Reserve Veteran, journey has included significant challenges, such as experiencing homelessness at 19 and coping with personal losses within her family. She credits her strength to the support of her veteran friends, reinforcing her belief that family extends beyond blood relations.
As the Secretary of Her HOPE Foundation Inc., Cherlanda is dedicated to helping women veterans find hope and strength, inspired by her own experiences. She aims to show others that, despite life’s hardships, there is still goodness in the world.

Derric Brown, LCSW
Community Engagement Director, US Army Veteran
Derric Brown, LCSW, is the Community Engagement Director at Her HOPE Foundation, Inc., where he leads outreach and partnerships to support unhoused female veterans. A licensed clinical social worker, entrepreneur, and deacon, Derric also operates a private practice focused on serving veterans, first responders, and their families.
Raised in foster care, Derric’s personal journey fuels his passion for trauma-informed care, faith-based service, and community healing. He holds a Master of Social Work from USC and is committed to helping others overcome adversity through resilience, compassion, and hope.
Derric has over 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector, including 10 years as a Social Worker with the Department of Veterans Affairs
